The training exchange, “Launching your career” (Einstieg Beruf), registered a record of 18,500 visitors at the end of January in the Karlsruhe dm-arena, Germany. Masses of people also crowded around the SONOTRONIC stand.
Inspiring young people to participate in training with the ultrasound specialist, SONOTRONIC, is the declared aim of the training ambassador, Michelle Fromm. The 20-year old is currently in her third year as an apprentice technical model builder. “When I finished my A-levels, I honestly did not have a clue what job I should go for. Should I go to university or go for an apprenticeship instead? All doors were open to me but I did not know which one to take”, Michelle Fromm explained. As a result of a holiday job at SONOTRONIC, she then found her dream job.
Sharing financial success with people who depend on help is obvious for SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH – not only at Christmas, but right through the year.
Choosing a career can be a very tricky business: should it be a job in industry or perhaps something in the social sector? There are apparently endless possibilities for a pupil, who already has to know from an early age, what the future should hold for him. In order to shed a little light in the jobs jungle, SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH again took part in this year’s Day of Vocational Orientation. This was organised by the Karlsruhe Chamber of Industry and Commerce in co-operation with the Karlsbad-Waldbronn Community School on 17.11.2016.
At the end of November, class 9 of the Anne-Frank-Realschule [intermediate secondary technical school] in Ettlingen experienced an engineering class full of surprises at SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH in Karlsbad-Ittersbach. The second exchange between school and industry took place as part of the co-operation scheme, “Industry backs training”. The aim of this exchange was to demonstrate to the pupils ultrasound technology in practice alongside a visit to the works. Three weeks previously, Markus Hecht, Applications Director at SONOTRONIC, had delivered a paper on this subject during the engineering class.
230,000 trade visitors from more than 160 countries really packed a punch over the 8 days in October 2016 at K in Düsseldorf. The fair organisers are extremely pleased with the way the plastics exhibition went and SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH also summed up the exhibition as being very positive.
Following FachPack 2016 in Nuremberg (Germany), SONOTRONIC can report positive results: although the number of visitors to the fair fell back slightly overall, enquiries from trade visitors to SONOTRONIC were of exceptionally high quality.
At the end of June again this year, the “Municipal Utilities” canoe regatta was held as part of the Port Culture Festival [Hafen-Kultur-Fest] in Karlsruhe, Germany. For this company competition, the race is conducted in six-man Canadian canoes over 300 metres on the Rhine.
Round 3 of the B2Run race started on 9th June 2016 involving approximately 50 employees of SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH of Karlsbad-Ittersbach: For the third time, the runners started at the Wildparkstadion for the 6.1 km run through the palace garden and around the castle of Karlsruhe.
In order to make the company even more future-proof, Jürgen Wolf, sales manager and Andreas Metko, operations manager, have been granted signing authority for the transactions of SONOTONIC Nagel GmbH with effect from 19.04.2016. By taking this step, Ingo Nagel, managing director of the globally active machine building company, is providing new impetus and reinforcing the management team.
SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH co-operates with the Karlsbad-Waldbronn non-denominational school under the “Business provides education” scheme.
On Tuesday morning, 1st March 2016, in the Karlsbad Civic Hall, the ceremonial signing took place of the co-operation project, “Business provides education”, organised by the Karlsruhe Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK). The aim of the project is to foster a profitable partnership. Under this scheme, SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH will allow pupils of the Karlsbad-Waldbronn non-denominational school to get a glimpse of business procedures. At the same time, this co-operation will present apprenticeship schemes at an early stage and training for skilled workers.
From 13th to 17th October 2015 the plastics industry came together at Fakuma in Friedrichthafen am Bodensee. SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH was again in attendance in Hall A4. New to the trade fair were SONOTRONIC’s presentation of the ECOFLEX flexible welding booth and the infra-red spot riveting unit.
From 28 September to 1 October 2015 SONOTRONIC exhibited at FachPack in Nuremberg. At the SONOTRONIC stand a large number of visitors learned about packaging solutions provided by ultrasound. Particularly popular this year was flexible packaging, such as flat-bottom and tubular bags, as well as tubes, which can be tightly sealed by ultrasound.
SONOTRONIC and Widmann jointly presented attractive ultrasonic solutions for the American Packaging Industry at PackExpo in Las Vegas from 28-30.9.2015. The focus was particularly on stand-up pouches.
With effect from July 2015, SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH will take over the sponsorship of the sports ground of SV 1899 Langensteinbach. “From now on, all SVL events will take place at the SONOTRONIC sports park or in its indoor facilities”, said club president, Gerhard Becker. He made this known at the ceremonial announcement of the partnership between the club and the ultrasonic machine manufacturer from Karlsbad-Ittersbach at the football festival on 13th July 2015. “In SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH we have found a long-term, high-end partner. We have maintained good contacts with the company for many years. SONOTRONIC has already been the main sponsor of both our football teams and this led to talks about the rights to name the sports facilities.”
On 11th June the starting pistol was sounded for this year’s B2Run at the Karlsruhe Wildparkstation. In glorious sunshine approximately fifty employees of SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH took part and demonstrated their sporting prowess under the motto, “Always one wavelength ahead”.
In the year of its 40th anniversary, continuous growth has given SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH the impetus to consolidate and develop its headquarters in Karlsbad-Ittersbach. The burgomaster, Rudi Knodel, municipal representative, Heike Christmann and Elke Wildenmann from the local economic development office used this occasion to visit the company on Monday 17th November 2014, in order to learn for themselves the current situation and future plans.
From 14th to 18th October 2014 FAKUMA opened its doors in Friedrichshafen for the 23rd time to national and international visitors. SONOTRONIC was again in attendance at its usual place in Hall A4, to provide advice on the use of ultrasonic technology for joining plastics in various industries, ranging from the car, electrical and electronics, household goods, textile and packaging industries.
Large numbers of exhibitors and visitors came together between 30th September and 3rd October 2014 at Equiplast – the international plastics exhibition in Barcelona. Our Spanish subsidiary company represented us on site and provided information on the areas of use of ultrasound in joining plastics.
A team of 46 motivated employees from SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH lined up at the starting line for the first time for this year’s B2Run in Karlsruhe on 22nd May 2014. Part of each runner’s entry fee went to support the RTL foundation, “We help children”.
